Giving back to the community is a huge part of our philosophy at Little Guys Movers. We love having the opportunity to help out at local charity events, and it’s even more exciting when we are able to partner with an organization long-term. Our Little Guys Movers Gainesville location had just that chance this year when it started working with Bread of the Mighty.
Bread of the Mighty is a food bank that collects, sorts, stores, and distributes donated food and essentials to nonprofit partners like homeless shelters and churches. These organizations then distribute the food to the hungry in the community.
The Gainesville crew reached out to Bread of the Mighty to see if there was a recurring need they could help with. It turns out that every month a large order comes in from the USDA, and the Little Guys were the perfect people to help sort and move those monthly shipments.
The first shipment that Little Guys Movers helped unload ended up feeding 302 seniors – an amazing feat, but just a portion of the 1500 seniors that Bread of the Mighty feeds each month! We’re honored to help contribute to ensuring that the people of Gainesville get the food and resources they need.
“Bread of the Mighty provides a service for the entire community, and they often have needs that they need the community to help fill. We see it as a shared duty,” says Branch Manager Rusten Bullard.
