The holiday season is here, and Little Guys Movers has already been celebrating! Our Lubbock location has been helping local organizations and businesses set up their holiday celebrations. It’s a great way for us to give back and use our talents for a greater purpose.
“Little Guys Lubbock is active in our community for the holidays,” says Branch Manager Robbie Stafford. “Not only do we want to be a part of others’ traditions and fundraisers, but we get to show our families how our work makes a difference as well — if you want to see a change in your community, then be part of it!”
Santa’s Workshop at the South Plains Mall
The South Plains Mall knows how to make Santa feel at home — all it takes is a little help from the Little Guys. “This is a service that South Plains Mall asks of us every year, and honestly it’s one of our favorites!” says Stafford. “Not often do you get asked to set up a 20 ft tree!” LGM also sets up giant reindeer, huge presents, and yes, Santa’s chair. People come from all over to meet Santa and experience the Christmas magic, and we love being a part of it.
The Junior League of Lubbock Holiday Happening
Little Guys Movers donates our time and transportation services to move tons of Christmas decor for this large fundraising event. The Holiday Happening raises money for the League’s signature projects: South Plains Food2Kids, Kids in the Kitchen, and SPARK. These projects provide resources, mentorships, education, and healthy food to children in the Lubbock community. The Holiday Happening is a festive holiday market with over 100 local merchants, silent auctions, and more that give proceeds to the projects. It’s a great way to Christmas shop for a cause!
The Nutcracker at Ballet Lubbock
This is the first year that Ballet Lubbock’s annual performance of The Nutcracker will take place at the new Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences. Earlier this year, the Little Guys got to help Ballet Lubbock move into the new space, so we are thrilled to help set up The Nutcracker there, too. “The Nutcracker is a staple of the Christmas season for Lubbock,” says Stafford. “[Ballet Lubbock provides] special performances for children and special needs adults who would normally not be able to attend a ballet with a live orchestra. They strive to inspire the community through accessible dance education and performance.”
In this season of giving, we love that we can gift our services to our community and help bring a little holiday spirit to the people of Lubbock. Happy holidays!
