Adopting a Christmas Tree at J.D. McCarty Center

The holiday season is here, and our Norman and Edmond crews got the chance to deck the halls for a very special event with the J.D. McCarty Center in Norman, OK.

What is the J.D. McCarty Center?

The J.D. McCarty Center is a pediatric rehab hospital for children with developmental disabilities, ages birth to 21. The Center exists to enrich the lives of these children, providing resources and support to help them enhance their skills. They do this through a variety of services, including therapy, medical care, recreation, respite care, and support services.

Little Guys Movers has been assisting the J.D. McCarty Center with events and moving services since we first helped them move into their current location in 2004! We love this organization and we are in awe of everything they do for the children in our communities.

Adopt-a-Tree Program

This year, our Norman and Edmond movers had the opportunity to team up on a fun Christmas project for the Center: the Adopt-a-Tree Program. This program allows local businesses to “adopt” a Christmas tree at the Center, which includes choosing a holiday theme and decorating the tree.

We chose a Grinch theme for our Christmas tree! We wanted to do something fun and full of holiday spirit, as opposed to something focused on advertising our business — we really believe this event is all about putting a smile on the faces of all the amazing kids and staff at the Center. And we’re proud to say our tree delivered in that area, as the staff even asked us if they could use some of our extra decorations around the rest of the building. We, of course, obliged!

Thank you so much to the J.D. McCarty Center for thinking of us for this awesome event. The Center does so much for the children in their care and we’re honored to be involved, even just to decorate a Christmas tree! Learn more about the J.D. McCarty Center at https://www.jdmc.org.
