Moving is a great time to downsize, so as movers we often encounter items people don’t want on moving day. We’re excited to be partnering with The Barnabas Network in Greensboro to give these used furniture pieces and household items a new home.
What is The Barnabas Network?
The Barnabas Network is a nonprofit furniture bank that gives gently used furniture to families and individuals in need at no cost. These people are often fleeing abuse, transitioning out of homelessness, recovering from a crisis or setback, or living in poverty. The Barnabas Network gives them the things they need to furnish their spaces and begin their new lives. They aid over 800 families in the Greensboro area every year!
What items do they take?
The Barnabas Network accepts a wide variety of furniture and housewares, including but not limited to:
Furniture
- Any furniture pieces that are free of stains, pet hair, and smoke, and are in good working order
- Mattresses and box springs
- Washers and dryers, stoves, and refrigerators
Housewares
- Pots and pans
- Small appliances, like toasters
- Dishware
- Lamps
- Towels
There are some items The Barnabas Network cannot accept, like dishwashers, office furniture, and baby items. To see the full list, visit their donation page here.
